About us

Who the heck are we?

Attainability was founded by Jeff Couillard.

Born and raised in the small prairie town of Bow Island, AB, Jeff moved to the city of Calgary in 2001. Over the past 12 years he’s obtained a degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership from Mt. Royal University and a Masters in Environment and Management from Royal Roads. His work has varied from guiding people on extended wilderness adventures, to facilitating daily programming for adults with developmental disabilities, to helping young cancer survivors develop their leadership potential. For the past 7 years he’s worked at Enviros Base Camp, where he currently manages an adventure-based wilderness therapy program for young people with addictions issues. He’s also co-founder of Givyup, a social business designed to help small charities raise more money, more efficiently. And he blogs a bit too.

In the spring of 2011, Jeff was diagnosed with diabetes. It came as quite a shock, having previously been a fairly active and health conscious person. A blessing in disguise, Jeff has used the insight he gained from overcoming a chronic illness to further explore the notion of resiliency and change, and has used this insight to help others facing similar challenges.

In the fall of 2012, Jeff and his wife Nicole welcomed their son Felix into the world. By far their proudest moment.
